God rom med en kompleks smag. Synes duften mangler lidt, og smagen også lige det sidste.
The addition of madeira cask-aged rum adds a little extra interest to the already exquisite RM12. A little more oak, with complex fruitiness from the madeira casks. A good amount of pot-still influence. At times I detect a bit of a cough-syrup flavor, but it's subtle enough to not interfere with the pleasure of sipping, which I will be doing on a regular basis.

very light and pleasant aroma, light citrus and slight fruit.
warm in the mouth, softer when a little water is added.
Overall, a very nice rum, not sweet at all. A nice change from the majority of sweet rums available now.
Nose: water and alcohol. The madeira is very forward in this rum. The wood lingers in the finish.
Quite a woody, oaked affair. .
"Ginger and white pepper combine with a real chunk of oak."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Sweet aroma, dry taste

This is a rougher type of rum from Barbados from the famous Foursquare distillery at 40% strength. The rum was aged for 12 years in oak bourbon barrels.
Bottle: Classic whiskey shape
Colour: Dark Amber
Nose: Intense and very pleasantly sweetish. Aromas of caramel, baked apples with lemon, vanilla, spices (cloves, pepper) and later oak wood wafted from the glass.
Taste: Dry and harsh at first, then mellowing on the palate. After sipping, I smelled bitter cocoa, wood and pepper. The bitterness is noticeable, but surprisingly not unpleasant.
Finish: Medium to long.
Summary: The product is more suitable for lovers of drier rums. I guess my earlier preference for sweeter types is starting to change, but I really enjoyed this rum. The main characteristics are: sweet aroma, dry and smooth taste.
