Big overripe fruit aroma with a warm and slightly vegetal note. Very warming, alcohol burn on sides of tongue

May need some time to get used to, if you never tried agricole before. But well worth it.

Compared to other agricoles I've had (e.g. Rhum J.M blanc or Pere Labat 59), it's quite restrained and subdued. Almost bland. There's a certain grassy fruitiness and some more savory notes in the background, but you have to look a bit hard for these aromas. The best thing I can say about it is that it goes down easy, especially if you're the type who might get overwhelmed by some of the more intensely flavored agricoles.
This gets heaps of praise online (and it has the price to match), it's supposed to be very flavorful - I'm actually wondering whether my bottle spent a little too much time sitting in a warehouse, or it's just a bad batch. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything that inidicated the bottling date or a serial number of some kind.

Bought this Rhum Neisson Blanc from Catawiki a few months ago.
The distillery is owned by the Neisson family since its foundation in 1932. They uses fresh sugar cane juice from locally grown cane. After a quite long fermentation it’s distilled in a French Savalle column still installed 1938.
The nose is aromatic, spicy and fruity with hints of grass, mineral and honey.
On the palate as well as during the quite long finish it’s quite powerful and the aromas from the nose comes back. I also recognize citrus and pepper and some hints of anise.
Overall a great Agricole Blanc that’s very good neat, but a little weak in a Ti Punch.
Pictures: My opened bottle together with a poured glass out in the Stockholm archipelago & together with a Ti Punch.

…well, then, you’ll love this.

It’s purely a sipper for real rhum agricole heads, just powerful in taste, feel, aroma and potency. Truly exceptional example of a world class white sipping rum, and perhaps in a category all its own as a result of this.

Mixing this would be a waste; however, in cocktails where the spirit shines above all else, this would be the one to use from the Martinique AOC cabal of distilleries.

Typical agricole flavours, with a touch of softness. Appealing and obviously a step up from HSE, for example, in quality.
The only issue is that, for me, I'd much rather put clairin in my cocktails. I just get so much more pleasure from the pot still flavours. Sorry Neisson, I'm going to have to hunt down an aged edition before I take a punt.

Nose: village, tomatoes, fresh milk, cover from corn
Taste: not so strong, but really rich. Cannot described it really.

An indispensable rum. Unbeatable. I've gone through bottles of this for Ti Punch and for mixed drinks. It has a distinct sugar cane flavor that shines through drinks with floral and fruity notes like jasmine and papaya. And as a high proof rum in a 1L bottle, you’re getting a lot for your buck.
