You can feel that this is young rum. Has almost no body and no finish. But it is relatively smooth and very good for mixing. Taste profile with hints of sugar cane, butter, caramel and oak. Nothing special but much more better than Captain Morgan...
Sampled the Ron Cubay selection at their stall at Rum Festival Cardiff on the weekend.
Traditional Cuban style golden rum aged 4 years. Sweet and fresh on the nose, slightly spicy in the mouth with butterscotch and charred oak coming through. Perfect as a mixer not so great as a sipper.
A mixing rum. Prefer the HC7 or the much better Santiago Anejo if we have to stick to Cubans. This particular bottle has been sitting open for a number of years. I suspect it's actually a 6 if freshly opened.
Dette er ikke en rom, som jeg vil anbefale som sipperom. Den mangler stort set alt.
Buen ron para tomarlo combinado o en mix .Ideal para cócteles. El ponerle 6 no significa que sea malo, es bueno pero para mezclar.
Good and well balanced for the price, perfect for mixing/cocktails.
Not too sweet with a tobacco finish. Very nice with Sprite. Good and cheap rum.
Très bon rhum pour le prix. C'est un classique, ambré et qui a le goût du sud.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This one is younger brother of Cubay's lovely Anejo, Dorada works works best in mixed drinks. On the nose, there is vanilla, apple juice, leather, bit of tobacco, the taste profile is on the sweet side, vanilla, caramel, apple juice, tobacco, hint of wood and a spicy kick at the end. Would not recommend this for sipping, but with coke it works perfectly. Good alternative for HC3 and also good value for money.
