Very rich, dark color. Taste is just as rich, more like a dessert rum. Nice port finish. Very enjoyable.

Medium Dry, with full sweet red grapes taste. Very woody. Long finish. Superb color, great high notes, one can really feel the Tawny Porto wine in it.

I prefer this to the Abuelo XV Oloroso and XV Napoleon. To me, the port has a much nicer smell and taste than the sherry or cognac does.

Semi-sweet, which smells and tastes of port, brown sugar, spice, leather, berries (from the port), and cacao. Definitely good. But for port aged rums I prefer the Foursquare 9-Year Port Cask Finish even more as it has a little better flavor. :-)

Sugar estimated at 30 GPL. Compared the Port cask finish with the Sherry cask finish and the Port cask rum is a bit smoother and aromatic. I like a well aged Tawny Port and that tips the taste scale for me. A nice mahogany colour in the glass with a lot of aroma that follows up in the taste. For me I smell and taste the sweet Port, dried fruit, tobacco, leather, vanilla, brown sugar, wood and a touch of smoke. Let it breath and be sure to take in the aroma before that first sip. I have the Abuelo Centuria in my collection and I would put this rum as a notch or so below it. A solid 9 rating

As a South American who grew up driving by the sugar cane plantations, rum has always been close to my heart.

This expression of Panamá's Abuelo is absolutely refined and smooth, punching above its weight when compared to other sublime and more expensive drams.

It's sweet and polished, thick on that first sip and not at all sharp on the palate. Notes of port and sticky date pudding. Superb!

Beautiful deep dark color. Give it a firm swirl a Glencairn glass and you can catch traces of the deep tawny port maroon chasing the caramel around the bowl.
Well rounded, warm sweet dusty vanilla on the nose. At some point it might have passed by an oak barrel.
Full of rum character, the port seeps through the middle and dies out as caramel sweetness dances around the edges of the tongue.

First night in Panama the Hilton had the entire double aged series on display. I am partial to Port aged rums and tried this one first. Deep dark color in the bottle smooth and not to sweet with a nice port finish. Highly recommend.

Beautiful. Port cask aging shines through. Oak and white pepper notes. Very smooth. Great balance. Another superior rum from Abuelo. Long sweet finish. I like the Sherry cask finish just a bit better but this is sumptuous. A definite 9.

First pprto tones you can find in aroma. Taste is complex with nice hint of Tawny, not covering the basic Abuelo rum character. Long aftertaste. Perfect fun is compare all 3 editions (Oloroso,Napoleon,Tawny) together :-)
