Nice nose, absolutely drinkable, only small problem I had with strongness. The rum seemed a little bit bland, but it was not bad at all. It tastes to me like some kind of very mild Eldorado 12yo.

Beautiful honey yellow in the glass,
Fresh and fruity on the nose. Menthol and fresh wood build a certain thrill, medicinal herbs coated with caramel provide the twist.
Soft and pleasant on the palate with a special touch. Nicely balanced flavors of vanilla, caramel, wood and some lemongrass can be detected. Candied fruit and a bit of chocolate come in a smooth transition to the finish.
Long and fruity finish, some menthol remains at the end with cinnamon and chocolate nuances.
A good rum with an independent profile for warm summer days where beginners and connoisseurs meet.7+

Nose nothing special, also I can't find something interesting in taste.

Quite light color, caramel aroma, sweet beginning of the body, oaky middle, short alcoholic end of the body. Almost absent tail, just decent touch in the middle of the tongue.

Premier rhum English Harbour, Calendrier de l'avent. Si je le compare à d'autre rhum de 5 ans, il bien bon. Peux se boire seul facilement.

English Harbour 5 Y.O. je všestranný rum, lehký a velmi jemný. Po destilaci zrál v sudech po bourbonu po dobu minimálně 5 let. Potěší i milovníky koňaku a skotské whisky.

Aroma: třešně, dřevo, náznak kouře, jemné koření, banánový a ořechový chléb.
Chuť: suchá, velmi jemná, s tóny zralých jablek, robustní kávy, pražených ořechů, tmavého cukru a koření.
Zakončení: čisté a elegantní, s přetrvávajícími tóny tmavého tropického ovoce.

Burn, not much else. Bit of orange but it’s a reach to get there. Going on my cocktail shelf.

$32 CAD I purchased this one on recommendations for a solid rum with a good price. Perhaps due to it’s accessibility and frequently large amount of bottles in the store, I never paid much attention to the English Harbour 5 year. I knew it was only a matter of time before I gave it a try though.

When you get the bottle on it’s own, it’s actually quite nice aesthetically. I really like the clean shape and subtle palm trees on the label.

The rum is very easy on the nose with lots of dried fruit and sweetness. Light colour.

Nice clean rum flavour. There’s a little bit of sweetness, some oak, but just solid rum flavour. Minimal heat. Finish is quite long and very enjoyable. It’s on the drier side but I still very much enjoy it.

All together, this rum delivers exactly as you think it would. From label, to colour, to taste; English Harbour 5 year knows what it is and follows through on that promise. Great rum.
