I generally don't care for flavored rums, though coconut or orange tend to be my favorite flavors.

However, this is one of my all time favorite coconut rums, right up there with the Koloa Coconut Rum. The sweet syrupy taste goes really well with the 45%abv, and I find this rum very easy to drink straight.

I find this is FAR better than the 21% Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, maybe because of the added strength. A MUST TRY if you like coconut rum!!!

Don't get me wrong, it has a noticeable kick but this product tastes and burns about the same as the much lower proofed version. If you really want to drink this stuff, I would say go for this one and get the bang for the buck.

I was debating whether or not to even submit this review since buying this one was inspired by the lifting of the pandemic lock downs and me wanting a coconut rum for the beaches. All the store had was this one, so I said WTF. Being a very wise man, I also picked up five different tropical fruit nectars to go with it as multiple experiments. As for drinking this one in the rocks, forget it! This one is still sticky sweet if spilled onto the bottle.

The five nectars that I chose were guava, guanabana, mango, pineapple, and strawberry banana. Well, the pineapple came in last which means that this rum makes for one terrible Pina Colada. Then again, maybe we should all curse who invented the Pina Colada! Mango came in second last to my surprise. The surprise winner in taste was the guanabana nectar, like a match made in heaven. Imagine what this nectar would be like with my top coconut rum of Brinley Gold Shipwreck Coconut. Combining the second and third place finishers of Strawberry Banana and Guava was almost as good as the Guanabana by itself. Don't tell your guests where you found these wonderful combinations. Then again, these nectars all disguise an average coconut rum.

And by all means save the beach friendly plastic bottle that this 750 ml of "rum" comes in. I froze a 50/50 mixture of this rum with my favorite nectar, and it came out in a wonderful frozen slush. All I could say was Wowee Maui!!!!

Splendid rare rum tasting with Falcon91Wolvrn03 continues onwards with Parrot Bay 90. It's unfathomable for me to say this for any Captain Morgan product, but this is absolutely spectacular. The best coconut rum out there money can buy. We tried Selvarey Coconut and Parrot Bay 90 back-to-back and the Parrot Bay won the contest hands down. It has to be the 90 Proof and the real coconut which makes this a clear winner.
