molasses. dry.
i smell ester, chewing gum, dry fruit like mango, caramel and vanilla.
i taste spice, pepper, orange peel, almond, trinidad and some plastic.
6/10. subtract 5 points if you like the diplomatico the most.
it is unsweetend, thats good. but thats not enough. the rum seems to be boring and very simple. the three different styles of rum from trinidad, jamaica and guyana simply stand out from each other. some peppery trinidad notes, some fruity jamaica-ester and some guyana-caramel. too flat for me. no tension, no depth and after all no that fits all!

My favorite liquor store started selling this rum a few months ago. They were recently pouring samples so I gave it a try. I have bought a few bottles sense then. I think it is very well balanced and dry enough for my taste.

This is a new Rum that I really took a liking to. On the nose, it is rich with aromas of caramel, vanilla and esters. It has the depth of flavor of a good pot still rum, but is super drinkable. Dry, complex, good finish. I've only tried it on the rocks, but I think it would be great in a classic rum cocktail, maybe I'll try that tonight.

This rum seems to have a bit of a smoky flavour which is unusual. Almost like a scotch but obviously not a scotch. It is definitely not my favourite.

Purchased a 3cl sample of this from Master of Malt for 拢5.06 after reading about it in an article from the World Rum Festival 2018 with it winning best rum and some other awards. A blend of a Trinadadian column still, a Guyanese Demerara column still and a Jamaican Pot still.

The liquid is a fresh, golden yellow. The nose is tropical with mango and pineapple, and touches of coconut. Its quite smooth with a touch of firiness, more of those exotic fruits come through finishing on the Jamaican I believe with more pineapple.

It's got flavor and funk and body. It's not the most fantastic sipper, but it is dry, and it may please some whisky lovers. It's pretty fantastic for a flavorful cocktail base. Consider that the elements are similar in sourcing to the old British Royal Navy Rum.

Smooth and easy drinking. Don鈥檛 mistake the copper steel pan taste as glue. May be over bearing.

Definitivamente no me gust贸. Quiz谩s funcione con Coca Cola.

Now, when I鈥檓 drinking whisky, I can鈥檛 get enough peaty, smoky malts of the kind you might find in an Islay whisky. In a rum, not so much.... but that鈥檚 what you have here. There鈥檚 a rum-y aftertaste, but I get predominantly whisky. It鈥檚 not bad, but for me not a sipping rum.

Before my first sip, I consider the fact that this Rum is a unigue blend of 3 Rum, Trinidad, Guyana Demerara and Jamaica heavy Pot still Rum each aged for 3 years in Bourbon barrels and all baring use of additives and colorings. No sugar after distilling is a good thing I look forward to in Rums. I'm not the greatest fan of aging Rum in Bourbon barrels. I don't want my Rum to taste like Bourbon which this does. However it's not bad, and for the price, at just over 20 in Maryland, I'll keep buying it. Bottle makes a great sconce for deck lighting too!
