Rum is wonderful. A very good combination of price and quality, which was a pleasant surprise. Suitable for an evening in the company, as he does not need to breathe for a long time to reveal his aroma and play of taste.
On the palate, you can feel honey, fruits, almonds, milk chocolate and the finish of a cognac barrel. Luckily, the bourbon aging didn't leave much of a mark on the palate, which we're even glad about.
Buono. Va giù che é un piacere. Forse un po' troppa pera per i miei gusti.
Very pleasant aroma. Caramel, nuts, and a bit of fruits. A bit on the sweet side.
As Belize was where I got the taste of rum, I was pleasantly happy to come across this rum, it is a mix of flavours, with quite a strong taste from the bourbon barrels is lived in for some time. This is fine as a sipping rum, but also mixes well. Certainly one of those rums, that when in stock, I will never pass it by.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

If you can get past Plantation’s business model of blending rums from other places and possibly adding sugar or other flavors, they do make a very enjoyable product!
I adore their XO, and this is right up there with it as far as flavors and drinkability is concerned. I get molasses, honey, golden raisins and a hint of chocolate, it’s smooth as would be expected at only 42%.
It has a gentle burn and is the kind of rum I drink neat. It might be excellent in a cocktail, but you’d lose much of the flavor notes I’d think.
Time for another glass!
