Smells like caramel. In the tas there is a distinctive Koffie and vanilla aroma.
Not a bad rum. But because I'm not a koffie drinker only 6 points.

Solid rum which is very smooth for its relatively young age. On the nose you can feel caramel, oak and sugar cane. You can feel in taste that profile is similiar to 12y but this one doesnt have full body like its older brothers. But still very smooth rum with flavours of tobaccoo, caramel and oak.

I had many trips to Cuba and always enjoyed Havana Club 7 yo. Up until now I did not try anything else except Cuban rum. Once I've brought from there Santiago de Cuba 11yo and have found it so smooth and delicius compared to HC. Since then I've discovered world is full of different rums ). Had tried 12 of them so far. And I will rate them comparing to HC as the base rated 6.

After having the 12yr and 15yr El Dorado I had high expectations and was not disappointed. They are not related though. The sweetness of the 12 is not inherited from the 15 or the 8. The 8yr has its sugary caramel smell and initial taste, but it is short lived and the flavours of go their own way. Following more towards the whisky, oaky dry taste. A good rum from a legendary name.

the colour and texture of this drink is quite beautiful. the bottle isnt for me but the label and contents are great
This is one hell of a smooth drop for an 8 year old and I was more than impressed with it.
I highly recommend this drink straight. It isnt overly sugary nor does the aromas over power you.
I will buy more of this

Another rum which is just liquid. Has no extraordinary or even special notes. So nhaaa drink something else.

Great as a mixer and OK neat or on the rocks. A little sharp for my taste, but the price is right.

I tried this 3 years ago and found its flavor unique but the after taste rather harsh .....either I have changed or the blend has been adjusted as I find this just as nice as the 7 year blends from Havana Club and Flor De Can and the 8 year old Bacardi. Still its a bargain in Canada and worth a try.

Good value for the money.
Quite cheap demerara rum. Good as a sipper and good for demerara mixers.
In the nose molasses is dominant.
Ona the palate there oak, cinnamon and some butterscotch notes.
Rum is well balanced and mellow

I give this a 9 because it’s really a great value and it is very close to the 12...which is my personal favorite sipper. It has a semi sweet smokey-oaky, caramel-vanilla and some plum-fruit notes. Great value for mixing too, keeps me from mixing with the 12! I sip it on the rocks too.
