El Dorado 8-Year

Bernsteinfarbig, mit Geruch nach Früchten, Vanille, Holz und ein wenig Alkohol.
Geschmack von getrockneten Früchten, Toffee, Vanille, ein wenig Süße und im Abgang dominiert ein wenig Alkohol und ein wenig salzig.

Alles in allem ein guter Rum
Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ok.

Eines muss noch gesagt werden: ohne Erfahrung war dies einer meiner Favoriten mit unschlagbaren Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.
Nach dem Testen von 18 anderen Rumsorten hat sich das Bild verändert, ok,
auch das Preisniveau, z.b. jetzt habe ich mir ein Glas eingeschenkt nachdem ich den Malecon 18 Jahre verkostet habe und was soll ich sagen, jetzt ist er nicht mehr so toll, schwach im Geschmack, kein Abgang.....

Für die jenigen die nicht Vorhaben eine Wissenschaft aus dem Rumtrinken zu machen: das ist ein guter Rum für alle Eventualitäten und eine 8 als Bewertung ist gerechtfertigt.
Für die Leute mit Erfahrung und die viele andere Rumsorten kennen und das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis nicht sehr wichtig ist ist es natürlich keine 8 mehr.

A bit too much heat for my liking. Has sweetness but it hides behind the spiciness. This one is much better with an ice cube IMO. In this price range i would go with plantation 5..

Po právom vychvaľovanom 12-ročnom bráškovi siaham po mierne lacnejšej 8-ročnej alternatíve. Fľaška je už o čosi fádnejšia, s klasickou plechovou zátkou. Vôňa je nenápadná, no zaujímavá, trochu cítiť lieh. Chuť je skôr suchšia a ostrejšia, okrem dreva cítiť spálený cukor, oriešky, až neskôr nasládle tóny. Vo svojej komplexnosti je tu jasné príbuzenstvo s drahším súrodencom, aj keď v trochu užšej a drsnejšej podobe. Na to, že cenovka je len mierne nižšia, je žiaľ kvalitatívny posun smerom nadol dosť veľký. Stále sa ale jedná o chutný drink na bežný deň, určite vhodný aj ako sipper. Subjektívne rating s odretými ušami 6, za rovnakú cenu oveľa radšej zvolím jemnejší a uhladenejší Barcelo Imperial.

At first it has quite a sharp alcohol so it needs to sit for a while to develop the taste and aroma. Afterwards it has a nice wooden aroma, quite sweet but you can still sense the alcohol strength in it.

Not a bad rum for a cheap bottle. The 8 year has a wood flavor on the front end, and you can taste the sugars on the back end.

Férový poměr ceny a kvality u klasického demerara rumu. Dobrý začátek s rumy. Méně sofistikovaný než starší bráchové. Dal bych 6,5.

Not horrible by any means, but for the small price difference go up to the 12. You won't regret it. The 12 is much more complex and a great sipper. This just doesn't compare even though it isn't a horrible rum.

It has the oakiness of other El Dorados, but a bit more of a burn. Still not a big fan of the screw top. Splurge and use corks or some other stopper type.
