El Dorado 8-year is a medium-bodied premium rum which has been recently added to the El Dorado portfolio. Distilled from fermented molasses, it is a nice option between the heavier 12-year and lighter 5-year counterparts.

Premier nez très rond, le rhum semble gourmand. Des notes de caramel sont présentent.
Au second nez l alcool et la canne se manifestent bien plus
En bouche le boisé apparait fumé.
Finale plutôt courte, la caramel reste présent.

Really solid for the price. Not as good as the 12 year but it's half the price.

Azthiszem ez az ital is egy ár/érték király. Soha rosszabbat.

This offers a dependable full body caramel-esque flavour. Sippable, but with a little more burn than my favourite rums. Considering I really didn't like the 12 year, this has been an impressive rum at the price.

When pressed to say my favourite rum (a question with no true answer), I just say El Dorado 12. A well-aged rum with the bold characteristics of a spirit half its age and warm pleasure of one of greater age, it will take a confident and well-earned seat in any scenario.
Countless nights have I found myself sipping this rum neat, alone in a daiquiri and dancing with rums from Jamaica, Barbados, and Nicaragua in more complex mixes.
Oak, orange, baking spice, orange, brown sugar, and a little taste of heaven, itself.
A constant must-have on every bar.

Good to keep around. Sip it or mix it. Much more complex than the 5.

Pas fan de ce genre de rum. Mais ce n'est que mon goût.
Il sera apprécié par les amateurs de rums de tradition britannique
I bought this after reading reviews here. Many people said that its even a nice rum compared to the 12 years old El Dorado, but for unfortunately it was a quiet big disappointment. It has a very sharp, alcoholic taste, almost like a cooking rum. For me the plus 4 years of aging definitely makes a huge difference.

Od El Dorada čaká človek asi viac, ak 12y super, tak pri 8y veľké dochucovanie a miešanie, až na škodu. Škoda.
It’s floral, there are notes of dark chocolate and dried fruits.
"It isn’t rough but it does have quite a spicy burn and finish. ."

I put this in my coffee every Saturday. 8 out of 10

The dark molassesy, brown sugar notes on this one punches well above its weight and can carry any recipe calling for a demerara rum. Super value for the price!
I personally like this in my coffee with a punch of banana liquer on Saturday mornings and in my three dots and a dash recipe.
