Florida Mermaid 3-Year rum, a pot-distilled, cane sugar-based rum that’s aged for three years and then blended with a pot-distilled, molasses-based Jamaican rum. The blend (which is 75% Florida rum and 25% Jamaican) is then aged an additional 90 days in the distillery’s own used rye whiskey barrels and bottled at 100 proof.via American Rum Report
Being a local of this rum. I am disappointed in the quality of this rum related to it's price tag. It would have been great to add a rum that is local to the collection but I just cannot justify the cost of a rum that tastes the same as a cheap liquor store special.
Rum tasting with my buddy in Tampere continued with Labourdonnais Orange. Decent bottle and label design. Light golden color. Strong orange peel mixed with traditional grassy and floral Rhum Agricole notes to your nose and palate when neat sipped. Overly sweet burn at the end.
sugar cane juice. dry.
all i can smell and taste is orange peel. without rhum. the taste of orange oily peel covers all other aromas!
5/10 because ot its natural taste and smell. if you peel an orange, thats what you get with this rum!
