Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Too much sugar for me, but if your into the smooth and sweet your going to like it. Think the opposite of funky dry Jamaican. If your idea of rum is a mixed cocktail but would like to have a sipping neat rum this is probably a safe bet.
Once was enough for me, I'll never buy it again.

I'm a simple Cuban guy who enjoys sipping his rum. Not quite a connoisseur but working my way up mostly in the value section of the market as I don't have deep pockets. This ED 12 is probably one of the best values one can currently find in the Ontario, Canada rum market ~38CAD. A bit on the sweet side but with lots of personality. I like its smell although I prefer the stronger smell of the Havana Club 7 years old. The taste and afterburn are great as compared to similar contenders. If this bottle had been a lady I would have proposed to her a long time ago ;-)

I remember liking this one, but it's been a long time since I tried it.

Very nice rum , not as sweet as Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva , but a fantastic sipping rum . The Demerara rum also combines well with a small amount of a decent cola when you want a longer drink. Most rums here in N.Z are pretty pricey but this is good value for money , need to try the 15 yr next !

En fin rom, let drikkelig med megen sødme og med et par sjove undertoner i smagen. Nogle snakker om lakrids - ved ikke helt om det var hvad jeg også smagte, men det var en god oplevelse :-)

great smooth easy sipping rum. i do like 12yr better than the 15yr, both are great but nothing touches the 21yr by far.

Det er en rigtig god rom til billige penge ca. 280kr.

Denne rom koster omkring 300 kr., men den smager af langt mere. En rom som de fleste burde kunne lide.

God rom til den meget lave pris. En god smag, der dog ikke varer længe.
