Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

when you base rum quality with Bacardi as standard, it just shows that you would drink anything with three letters on the label. but if you base all other rums with this one, it will make you seem like a very well versed rum taster.

the quality of the liquid itself speaks for itself. great flavor and character. if you want a great sipping rum in your cabinet, this should belong at top tier selection. toss out those mediocre rums and make this your standard rum of choice stat!

Very good for 12-year. I got it as a gift from friend - finished same night ;)
Good strait or with cola.

This rum was awful and I was barely able to finish it. On the rocks it tasted like drinking rubbing alcohol with a hint of rum, and that weird abrasive flavor punched through any mixer I tried. I was really disappointed in this, especially for the price I paid. I'm now hesitant to try anything else from El Dorado. Even with the help of some friends I struggled to finish this bottle in a year.

Heerlijk om puur te drinken. Smaak. Caramel, vanille, cacao. Lekker met een sigaar

This stuff is just fan-freakin'-tastic! Even while it is sweeter and different than its 15-y.o. counterpart, this rum never fails to make me smile, straight-up, just as it is! Some oak spice heats the palate, still, (but, rest assured, in a good way, not burning at all) and the finish gives off the usual hints of brown sugar and caramel, with some toffee, vanilla, and nutty flavors briefly making their way in, too. Super smooth and very enjoyable.

It was good but nothing special, good taste but for the price I'd get the diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva instead.

Great sipping rum although not as smooth as the 15 yr old. However for the price point for this (in the UK) it is better value then the 15 yr old and ended up to be my go to rum.
