Probably one of the better mixing rums there is. almost any casual person will enjoy however borders on the edge of being a liqueur rather than a true Rum. Be warned it is EXTREMELY sweet and syrupy. So if that is not your cup of tea steer clear.

...to be precise, but this is not a rum, it’s a liquor. A very tasty liquor! Mostly when I offer it to a woman, they liked it, it’s kind of a good entrance into the world of sugar cane.
Nose: Caramel
Taste: Caramel
Finish: Caramel
😂at least this is how I taste it

Citit v nom nejake umelo pridane latky a ta bananova aroma mi v chuti tiez velmi nesedi... Skusenost fajn, ale dalsiu flasu by som si uz nekupil...

Read reviews and thought they might be overblown comments about added flavoring and extracts, because I’ve seen reviews of Diplomatico Reserva calling it more of a liqueur and claiming added flavoring. Well I have to say they were right about this one. It could be a sipping rum because it is a liquid and can be dipped. The nose is heavy with straight up banana extract. It has the exact same nose as a bottle of banana extract with just slightly stronger alcohol notes. Would say it’s not as sweet as runs labeled banana rum and that it does have some vanilla and slightly spicy finish. This is a rum needing a mixologist to tap its purpose.

Too sweet for me, vanilla or candied fuits with honey ?! Not like a rum in traditional expected taste, more like elixir... For the same price better rum can be found I believe.

Blend of rums from 8 Countries: 🇧🇧 🇧🇿 🇧🇷 🇨🇷 🇩🇴 🇸🇻 🇬🇾 🇭🇳

Special taste: does not taste like rum, does not even taste like an alcoholic drink!
But if you like banana syrup, this one is a good one.
Nose: fruity, some orange and lots of veery sweet, ripe banana, and some burnt caramel maybe.
Palate: also very sweet, no burn (well; it‘s only 35% Vol.). No character. Just sweet banana. Tastes a bit artificial and sticky. I miss the typical character of rum: some wood notes and complexity would be nice.
Reminds a bit of Don Papa.
(Tasted on 2 occasions til now)

Easy to drink, not much flavours, sugar added, banana. With cola I think I could drink it all night, but for that price range I demand something more. I would give it lower note but it definitly has some orginality within its taste, and botlle is great. It is good for gift becouse of it and good for rum newbies.

Edit: I have to edit my opinion, and add something after having couple glasses of Bimbu more:
I feel those banana / vanilla notes are artificial added, and I've realized that I regret buying this rum, for the first time I had to puor some different rum to this botlle and mix it becouse I wanted to try to save it, and partially I've succeded, but is this a solution? I am dissapointed.

Stay away, behind that nice botlle and marketing its a empty shell, not real rum!

Final verdict: I will not buy it again

Rum or not? I for one am not 100% sure...

Starting with the packaging, it's heavy and feels like a quality bottle, nice labels and the cross looks a bit individual.

The 'rum' it's self is a nice caramel colour when poured and straight away you can catch that banana and vanilla scent which appeals to me on alot of levels.

Sipped neat the banana, vanilla profile comes through but oddly enough disappears from your tongue quickly leaving a slight sweet taste and none of that alcohol burn.

Bumbu really comes into its own when mixed, added to a nice ginger ale it's gorgeous.

All in all being a relative newbie to rum its quickly become my favourite as I am a slave to my sweet tooth 😁
