Bumbu Original

This rum is straight bananas on the nose and palate. It’s low proof, sweet and easy to drink. A great starter rum for people who haven’t yet developed a palate for the dryer and more balanced rums.

Thankfully it is not as off putting as AH Riise stuff, but it is so far from rum as Fanta.

Although Bumbu boasts a much sweeter and banana flavor than other higher end rums, this is still one of my go-to bottles.
It sips incredibly well, and leaves a sweet taste of vanilla on the tongue.
It’s certainly not something to drink too many of, as the sugar will work it’s magic in the morning. But, a great after dinner treat.

Very sweet smell. Taste: vanilla, creamy butterscotch. It is a nice rum to have in or with your coffee. A liquor instead of a rum, my opinion

Not an inexpensive rum around my parts, but not the most expensive either so I thought I'd give it a go. Smells to me like really sweet vanilla and caramel. Taste is sweet too. Strong vanilla and artificial banana(?) aftertaste. If sweetness is not your bag, well, then this is probably not either. I'll check in with this review when I'm deeper into my bottle. Which is quite decorated, I must say. That can be a positive or a negative, as really high quality stuff are often underpackaged and anonymous. This bottle is loud.

Bought this knowing reviews had labeled it too sweet with overdone notes of vanilla extract and (Laffy Taffy) banana flavors. Although the flavor is overdone it’s still a decent rum. Enjoy with some summer style cocktails and you won’t regret it. Not an everyday rum but one I’m happy to keep in my liquor closet. Cheers!

Vzhľadom fľaše má rum Bumbu lákal od začiatku ochutnať. Nazval by som ho dezertným rumom...
Vôňa je kvetinová, chuť je sladká, výrazne po banánoch, cítiť ho trošku aj po ananáse a mangu.
35% a sladkosť ho predurčuje pre ženy alebo ľuďom, kt. neobľubujú ostrú alkoholovú chuť. Zaujímavý kúsok, ktorý odporúčam ochutnať.

Low alcohol content, almost no burn on the sip. Plenty of sweet fruit smell and taste on the tongue. Most dominant is the banana (not as much as in Arcane Extra-aroma) and coconut. But not really a rum per-say. Works great as dessert after Sunday lunch or dinner. Will be welcomed by most female drinkers and looks stylish (if maybe a bit childish) on the shelf.
If you want a rum to enjoy the flavors and power, stay away. If you want a fun alternative to the Legendario elixir, give it a try.

A very sweet rum but if you are in the mood for it the banana and vanilla flavour works. I would recommend this one, but don’t expect a traditional rum

The vanilla hit me first, and much stronger than the banana. (This could be because of my still-being-educated rum palate.) The first glass was delightful, and it made me look forward to a second. But after two or so sips of the second, the sweetness and almost syrupy aspects of the rum overcame the tastiness and made me put down my glass. I added about three ounces of Coke and finished my drink. It was yummy with the cola. I'll look forward to rum and cokes with Bumbu in the future, but no more "on it's own".
