I agree with many others. Very sweet, but that is part of the newer rum popularity isn't it? Sugar and 35pc at a high price don't combined too well for me either. Like lots of the sweet stuff it's easy to drink neat or mixed but the biggest draw it the cool bottle. Smooth n easy. Not exactly pirate characteristics but very cool looking anywat
As the ratings show there is a lot of differing opinion on this rum. It claims it is based on 16th century local recipes. Neat it has no burn with toasted vanilla maple notes. Most say banana but I also get a hint of cinnamon. If it fits your flavor profile for a sweet spiced rum it’s going to be a favorite. Not my cup of rum but better than any spiced rum I have tasted so far, thus my 6. I could see this in a craft cocktail. The bottle is interesting and displays well if you like a pirate theme. Basically it feels and taste like a liquere so I understand the low rating from some. But hey, I’m liking my rum tastings because their is a wide range of flavors so Cheers.
Lots of good stuff here; vanilla and banana notes. Just too syrupy to be excellent.
I find that it’s really sweet with loads of vanilla, it’s smooth but to be enjoyed with coke or in a cocktail
First of all I have to say that I enjoy most of the sweet thing. While they claim there is no sugar or flavor added... Ehh I can't believe it. There is no doubt that they add something and I will not say it is a rum for connoisseur. I still have enjoyed it though but will not recommend it as a true rum.
Had this at local whiskey bar and thought it was a little on the sweet side. Still pretty good so I bought a bottle. I think this is more of a dessert rum than an everyday sipping rum.
Plenty of criticism on this one at their ethnicity, labelled as Craft Rum, but at strength of 35% and added ingredient, technically a spiced rum instead. However, spiced rum are considered crafted right?
N- Banana fritter with chocolate sauce, sugar in the heart with green mango and young fruit, quite potent at the tail with nail polish with hints of white distillate. (79/16)
P- Vanilla, clove, cardamon and assam boi, gently salty-sweet, light, feel tropical and relaxing, would drink this over some crushed ice under the shades of coconut trees, by the sea of course. (83/18)
F- Short, light, sweet but not cloying. Confusing labeling apart, this is acceptable to me, and certainly there are poorer spiced rum out there. (83/18)
B/B- 83/18

Why not. Sweet and fruity rum. I like sweeter rums and this one will be one of my favourites. For someone maybe much fruity and yes, this one is not classic rum. :) Smell is very strong fruity, mostly banana.
very sweet rum, flavor of banana and apples, veri unique but for this price i can buy better one
The nose smells very sweet. Llashings of caramel and toffee.
"It barely even tastes like alcohol in any way shape or form. No mid palate and definitely no finish not even the slightest hint of alcohol burn. Maybe a little bit of woodiness as it goes down."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A liqueur, not a rum

This is a sugary liqueur, not a rum. That said, it is not unpleasant with banana and caramel being the dominant flavours. It is smooth, if teeth-curlingly sweet, and has a syrupy feel in the mouth.
Not a sipper for me, needs ice as a very minimum to tone it down. Would make an interesting ingredient in banana themed cocktails though.
