nice for some cocktails, enjoyable for ladies, and also for you in a summer day, otherwise not really a rum like a "real rum", still one bottle at home can be useful
Right out of the gate, giant nose of vanilla and banana. First sip confirms the vanilla and waaaay too much sugar. Tasty though!
Banana and vanilla forward. Very sweet. But that's my pallet. May not be for everyone, but worth trying.
This is the first Rum I could sip. It is my favorite.
Nice light drink. Sugar+vanilla+banana.
If you prefer sweet rum without strong alcohol aftertaste, you will find Bumbu really nice.
I really did not enjoyed this βrumβ, it has too much banana flavour and not delicate taste.
It pours brown in colour. Aroma and flavour are of banana and vanilla. It's quite sweet and only just on the right side of smooth to drink neat. I prefer to drink it with cola or Kinnie but it's certainly not the nicest rum I've tasted.
Reasonable presentation, with the "X" marks the spot bottle, in keeping with the Pirate heritage.
Looks good in the glass, having a nice amber hue and good legs when swirled in the glass.
However the nose is not what one expects from rum. Very sweet, with an artificial flavoring aroma which hits you immediately after pouring. I can't get past associating the aroma with the artificial flavorings that my mother used in baking. Some combination of banana and other extracts.
It is more thin in the mouth than expected, given the good legs mentioned above. Also, the flavors do not develop in the mouth much beyond the original banana, etc. nosing.
It is reasonably smooth, however the follow up is more of a mild burn than any satisfying flavor.
Some might like Bumbu as a liquer or dessert type rum and therefore disagree with my overall rating, however as a traditional sipping type rum it just does not cut it.
I tried this once. It's watery and sweet. The fact it's bottled at 35% to save on taxes yet costs as much as a premium blend is not forgivable. Stay away.
The nose smells very sweet. Llashings of caramel and toffee.
"It barely even tastes like alcohol in any way shape or form. No mid palate and definitely no finish not even the slightest hint of alcohol burn. Maybe a little bit of woodiness as it goes down."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

70 proof of awefullness. I canβt even think of anything to mix this syrup with. Big bottle, big cork, big disappointment.
