I have read a lot of good things about Berry's and when I came across a couple of their rums at the Total Wine & More in Jacksonville, I had to get them to sample. This one comes from Barbados, a place where I seem to find the most pleasurable of rums. And this one is no exception.
In my snifter the hue is on the borderline of amber and straw. The aroma is delightful and inviting. No astringency or ethanol aroma.
The flavor is fantastic. And initial sweetness with recognizable vanilla and caramel flavors. The cane used is noticeable in flavor. Online I notice the majority of the Berry's Barbados rums are the 13-year aged rums but this one is a 9-year variety it is freakin' DELICIOUS! I now wish I could have gotten the 13-year rum (wasn't available at the Jacksonville store). Some oak undertones but not so much as to overwhelm the flavors nor produce an objectionable bitterness. There is a butteriness about this that becomes more pronounced the more one sips. It is smooth and delicious with a strong warmth but not a wicked burn. The finish is a hint on the sweet side and invites you to sip again like a sexy woman inviting one for a kiss.
HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended indeed! I will most certainly be buying another bottle if I find myself in Jacksonville again. And I plan on it.

A bit to light for barbados rum 7 out of 10
Surprised it was 46% because was a bit weak but definitely solid for mixing and ok to drink neat but not very complex, worth buying
