Pusser's Gunpowder Proof 3-Year

Super im Geschmack und das mit herlichen 54% vol.

I had a really good feeling about the rum when I first smelled the scent of it. The first seconds of the first sip was woody, sweet and strong in alcohol. (I like strong alcohol in rum by the way). But the aftertaste is kinda bitter. That's the hole story.

This particular Pusser's is unexpectedly nice and adds a nice little pop for a sipping rum. It has a strong nose of oak and cinnamon. The first taste is defintely little strong with flavors toffee and vanilla. I think if you add a few drops of water it will bring down the strong alcohol taste and make it even better. Probably too nice for a mixer but might give it a try.

Smoky, raisins, high abv (54.5%), a bit ethanolic in the finish.

You smell raisins and caramell.
First sip a strong alcoholic burn but not too harsh.
Spicy tones of pepper and raisins.
Good Rum with a unique Taste good for Punch.

Even on the nose you can smell that this one is really strong with flavours of raisins and caramel. In mouth you again feel flavours of raisins, dark chocolate, molasses and spice.

I drank it outside in cold weather. I was surprised how smooth it was for so strong alcohol. Good taste too.

Duft af sprit, lakrids og muskat. Meget kraftig. Smagen er et spark i smagsløgene. Kunne næsten ikke trække vejret. Har prøvet mange rom med høj alkoholprocent, men dette var voldsomt. Brændte i svælget i første omgang. Ellers smag af peber, lakrids og lidt krydderier i slutningen. Havde håbet på noget bedre. (14. December 2018 i MacY og 3. December 2019 i 1423)

Smagt igen i 2020: Opdateret fra 3 til 4. Beskrivelse passer, men meget lakridssmag. Lakridsen er lidt bedre end jeg husker. Eftersmag af noget, der er brændt. Første tår brænder hele vejen ned. (8. December 2019 i Mac Y) opdateret 2022: samme som tidligere, men vanvittig brændende, som sætter den tilbage til træ. For få gode elementer til at de kraftige alkohol undskyldes.

Gunpowder překvapil příjemnou vůní, čekal jsem, že budu cítit jen alkohol. Při ochutnání zprvu silný nástup alkoholu, to ale vzhledek k jeho objemu nepřekvapí, ale na rozdíl od jiných "alkoholových" rumů, chuť nepůsobí levně. Závěr je překvapivě rozmanitý a hodně sladký. Nebude to pro každého, ale je z toho cítit kvalita. Tuhle láhev asi časem koupím.

A surprise that gives, a lot of flavours in this one. Tastes spicy, Guyanaish...Might it be? Nice. Powerful, so treat with respect.
