Warming and simple to drink over ice. A good standard for any cabinet.
As Appleton recommend, this is not meant to be a sipping rum.
Although drinkable straight don't expect much.
Great with ginger ale and a lime. Best mixed with cola, blends well, very moreish.
Very good in whiskey based cocktails like the classic old fashioned. I hear that it has such a whiskey like taste is because Appleton estate use ex jack Daniels barrels. I personally like to pair this with grapefruit juice. Use this as bait for your whiskey loving friends.
Smooth, sweet rum where the alcohol doesn't sting as much as it would in spirits. Good as a sipping rum but quite nice with spicier mixers such as ginger beer.
I don't get Appleton's labelling system, they have so many different rums but if this is really their signature blend then they need to sort their shit out. I know it's not their best rum in fact it's close to their worst. Should have called it Appleton Leftovers or something. Very strong alcohol smell.
Firts sip was reather poor, but after several minutes it developed interesting taste hard to define reather muddy organic
Ok neat or on the rocks but mixed in coctail and some weird metallic aftertaste happens...
Inte riktigt där för mig, tror denna gör sig bättre dom en blandrom än något fint man dricker efter maten. Lite för skarp och utmärkande spritsmak för mitt tycke.
I shouldn't have read the reviews beforehand because it might have biased me, but this rum is only decent and not super sweet and delicious like my favorite rums
To me it's just ehhh. Not bad but not great. It was good mixed with soda but on the rocks with lime not so good.
Well balanced and it is a quite subtle (by Jamaican standards) rum.
"The initial sip is quite smooth but the palate soon heats up and feels the black pepper again, this time with some chilli and ginger spice."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Nose has some funk backed by an oaky smoke. It tastes of caramel and vanilla, but a bit harsh for a sipping rum.
