Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

Assez liquoreux, mais sans excès de lourdeur. Notes fruitées, banane flambée, pruneau.
Un élevage original pour ce produit qui grandit sous les tropiques puis est terminé en Espagne dans des fut de Xeres. Le résultat est très intéressant avec comme souvent dominante de vanille, de caramel mais aussi fumée, fruits rouges...
Très facile à boire, c'est souvent la bouteille retenue par mes amis !
Mittelmass, trifft leider nicht ganz mein Geschmack, die Sherry-Fass-Lagerung ist deutlich in der Nase und am Gaumen zu spüren. Würzig, ein wenig fruchtig und nicht allzu süss.
Beautiful mahogany color with fruity , grapes, figs . The sherry is very present and gives a nice structure to rum. Finally, it includes the Aging working in sherry and this double (triple) aging initiated with the little brother 5+3. The taste is long and delicate. Wonderful discovery and hopefully soon confirm a 9 or 10 with luxus
Denne var en af de første - en gave, som var lige sprittet nok. De søde rom var mere mig, men efter noget tid har denne vundet mere og mere indpas. Kan godt li den sherry-snært de sidste 5 års lagring har bidrager med.

Surprisingly great rum, on the similar level as my favourite ones: 12yo Diplo and 23yo Zaca... Recommended!

Nice dark ambet with a sweet bouquet. Let it breath for a few to calm down the burn. Great straight or on the rocks.

I was a bourbon drinker who was told to try this instead with a cigar one night. Mind blown. Complimented my smoke beautifully and had all the traits of a good bourbon, only better. I highly recommend it.
