Dos Maderas PX 5+5

Decent looking bottle. 10 years in oak casks and two years in sherry, you can smell the sherry, it gets stronger the longer it breathes. It's a uniquely sweet flavored rum. Think raisins. The sweetness makes it an easy sipper and an excellent mixer.

It's enjoyable. I detect strong hints of rum. Filling space.

Man kan tydeligt smage den har fad lageret i langtid. Sød som en rom skal være og så meget røget, så man nærmest kommer til at tro det er whisky, men på en god måde. Ret fed og ikke en rom man drikker flere glas af på en aften.

Skvělý kousek! Vzhledem k tomu, že zraje v sudech po sherry, asi nepřekvapí tmavá barva a silná vůně višní. Višně jsou výrazné i v relativně sladké chuti. Pálí jen lehce a velmi, velmi dobře se pije. Překvapilo mě, že je opravdu výrazně jemnější a lepší, než jeho jen o kapku mladší bráška 5+3.

Průměrný rum jehož chuť mě ničím nezaujala. Zkusit ano, ale láhev bych si nekoupil.

Wauw. Puur echt heel lekker. Een zoet begin met hints van butterscotch vervaagd in een wat kastanje-achtig kruidpalet met hout en wat tabaktoetsen...

Een beetje cola doet wat afbreuk aan de leuke, complexe smaken maar drinkt ook wel lekker...

Really good opens up nicely with a little water and the ability to breath. But I like it with coke

I am more a Diplomatico, El Dorado fan. So my first impression was a surprise.
The first feeling was a scotch taste, Follow by an indefinite flavour wich end in finale by a
taste of fruit, vanilla, fruit cake. I found the smelt better than the taste.
An in-between scotch-rum, wich would please to wisky, bourbon, scotch amateur.
A compromise is to let it breath for 30 minutes. A 7/10 is fair considering that I found this a marginal rum but with great qualities.

Very leathery aromas. You have to let it breathe for a while. Taste is a bit like a mix between rum and scotch. Lots of leather with some small caramel and raisin after taste. It is very different from most rums I I've tried. Not really my thing but if you like scotch you may like it a lot.
