Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

I have had it with sweet rums. I find rums which have been artificially sweetened harder to drink than actual sweet liqueurs, for some reason. Dos Maderas is sickly sweet. Leaves you completely saturated with sugar after one glass. There is some depth but the added sugar makes it much harder to appreciate any flavour. It is smooth though and would appeal to a certain palate.
A good rum, nice and light in flavour. just an average good rum but very short, it doesn't leave an lasting impression. This is a good rum for a beginner given it's price and the quality you get for it.
Sweet and fruity but yet has something I don't like, can put word to it but just not a rum for me
Denne Rom er super god, den har masser af smag og behageligt eftersmag
You can see the quality in this rum, maybe the taste just doesn't suit me that well.
God smag men lidt spritter i munden. Foretrækker diplomaticoe.
Nice sweet aroma, but too much of a sherry taste for me. Interesting if you want to try something different.
But it's a bit too sweet. Still a passable sipper. Lots of raisins and I get hints of tobacco, smoky content. If it didn't have so much sweetness it'd be deserving of a higher rating. As others have said let this breathe before partaking.
A great scent, well balanced taste but a little too much Sherry taste for me to make it a real favorite.
Rich, plump raisins dominate the palate.
"Quite drying on the palate so the mid palate. A slight oakiness and a little touch of the oak barrel."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

trop boisé pour moi, reste intéressant à goûter mais sans plus
