Doorly's XO 6-Year

Not gonna write a deep review, as there are a lots of good comments which you can read below. My opinion is this release is better than 5 and 8. It's smooth, fairly priced and i have it constantly in my cabinet. It's a everyday pleasure!

I prefer XO rums as they consistently rate high for me

First taste I was pretty disappointed, no real flavour, a slight oak taste with an upfront burn and a medium tail of nothing, ice mellowed the burn but did not open up the flavour

The smell is plain, the colour is murky amber.

As a mixer its good, I use ginger ale, it helped this taste better

Price wise it is not top tier but expensive for what it is, go buy Bumbu XO for a better tasting rum that is cheaper.

Very nice rum. Nice notes of caramel and fruit. Very mellow, barely any harshness. Similar to the 12 year Doorly, maybe just a step below. Also a fantastic value at the Total Wine price.

Can’t complain for the price it cost. Foursquare is definitely the rum for people who are usually bourbon drinkers. Still pretty smooth, and like I said, for under $25, no complaints here

Smooth and tasty. Very good for the price. Solid Foursquare rum.

I didn't like it more than I liked it, there was too much of a taste, something similar to furniture varnish.

Sherry cask aged. Tastes like sherry or brandy, but not rum. I guess it's fine if you like that sort of thing. I don't. It's why I'm a rum fan.

I'm enchanted. What an aroma. Bananas, caramel, oak and many others. Delicious rum, taste without artificial sugar. Warming finish, quite long. I recommend!

Picked this up since I hadn't seen it before and figured a 6 year would be up my alley. It has a good amount of bite and burn and definitely feels vapory on your breath. Outside of that, there's not a whole lot going on here. Vaguely taste vanilla, caramel, and warm spice but the flavor is kind of lost in the burn from the alcohol.
