Barbados | Aged | 43% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
Produced in Barbados by master distiller Richard Seale, the rums in Doorly XO have been aged a minimum of 6 years before finishing in Olorosco sherry casks. The second maturation in sherry casks is rare and gives Doorly XO its unique flavour.

Great nose with dark raisins, figs, but also lighter and tropical fruits (mango and pineapple), furthermore caramel, toffee, cocoa, cinnamon, clove, some meaty sherry notes, leather and even shoe polish and a faint note of paint.
Taste is similar but a bit more wood spice shining trough. In the finish still the dark fruits, leather and lingering wood notes, quite dry.
So similar to the 12, but like, with letters instead of numbers. APPARENTLY letters are WAY cheaper than numbers because this bottle was $18 instead of $26.
Really nice sipping rum, the alcohol is slightly pungent and can still be tasted.
I bought this one in a specialized liquor store. The guy gave me the possibility to smell and taste some rums, before choosing which one to buy. I had no idea of the prices, so that could have been a surprise! Really liked the smell of this one, and the taste was what I expected after smelling. I was surprised not to pay too much, so I definitely recommend!
Gourmand, frais et délicat.
Le nez est sur la nous et le miel.
Bouche longue sur la vanille
Took me a couple of years to revisit a Doorly’s rum. Drier than RL Seale’s 10, but a great sipper. Sherry and maybe a bit of port in the finish. A fine addition to any collection. I’m looking forwards to open a bottle of the 12 year old I’ve not yet got round to.
Great rum great price like this
better than the 8 year and RL Seale
10 both good rums really like the Sherry finish.
As I like sweet rums, this one's in my style. It's smoother than Doorly's 5 years and a bit sweeter too. But.....there are better ones in this price range.

Industrial rum made by assembling different rum aged 6 to 10 years in bourbon barrels and then finished in oloroso sherry barrels.
It is a good distillate with good value for money, superior to many more "famous" even more expensive rums.
On the nose: moderately complex with notes of vanilla, peach jam, cinnamon, tobacco.
To the taste: it is soft but balanced by a just bitter component; the sweet notes on the nose and those of the sherry return. Light caramel and a hint of bitter cocoa and licorice; the finish is medium and the mouth remains clean, indicating a well-executed distillate.
Rum with an average complexity able to satisfy both the novices and the slightly more demanding drinkers!
Advice for everyone: when you smell a rum (or any distillate), before inserting the nose and inhaling, make a slight puff in the glass and immediately afterwards try to smell the perfumes. This operation serves to arouse a bit 'the power of alcohol that otherwise would lead you to burn in the nose and to anesthetize your sense of smell.
Try to drink it first alone, then after eating dark chocolate (70 to 85% max), and finally after eating a half slice of fresh orange (including peel is important) with some brown sugar on top. ;-)
It has that distinctive light and fruity Bajan nose. .
"It’s nicely balanced and subtle on the nose. The rum is initially quite sweet with notes of toffee, banana, a little orange and citrusy lemon/lime. The finish is long and quite spicy with a hint of oak."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
