Tasted Sunday March 24 Palm Sunday courtesy of Soto's sojourn to Kearney.
Appearance: light gold
Aroma: vanilla, oak.
Flavor: blackberry, currant, oak, vanilla
Tasting notes: So glad that the bar in Kearney gifted Soto the end of this bottle; the bottle itself is lovely but the contents - oh how I wish this rum was still in production. Perhaps I'm making it up, but I did feel like I could taste currant and blackberry along with vanilla.
Sweet, smooth, and a hint of wood. Smooth finish that doesn’t linger. Don Q has this one dialed in!
I really enjoyed this bottle.. It was a very nice experience... The smell is so smooth and delicate. Strong ones of vanilla and white chocolate. You can recognize that this is a grown up rum taste. It has a full body.. rich tones of toffee and vanilla a bit of smoke and just a bit of wood.. perfect balance. I truly recommend this one.
Dry and oak. A bit too complex and bitter vs double cast.
leave it in the glass 10-15 minutes because it s a little bit harsh on the nose ...
but than you have a good dry rum, a little bit of oak and vanilla,
for me the predominant note is croissant,
also in the medium finish i have croissant in the mouth ...
A sweet almost perfumed like aroma is followed by some oak, a little spice and a lovely waft of light vanilla.
"The initial sip gives a sweet yet slightly peppery entry. Running alongside these flavours is a subtly creamy vanilla note which runs right through the rum. The finish is long and peppery."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Vintage bottle tasted thanks to Tia Soto on 3-24-24. Amber in color with a pronounced green apple aroma. A bit of cardboard perhaps due to the reputed 8 years in an opened bottle. Low in sweetness, mild toffee, black pepper. This seems more like a Barbados rum than one from PR. Astringent finish.
