By far the best coconut flavored rum I've had

Tasty, but hey what do you expect from a flavored rum. Serves it's purpose. I only mix flavored rums with full strength rums.

You can't get Coconut flavor and mouth feel like this with out using real coconuts. Compare this to any other coconut rum and you'll be sorely disappointed. The creamy/oily mouthfeel of Don Q Coco adds so much depth to any cocktail that it deserves to be in it's own class of flavored rums. Do the 'Coco Bongo' (equal parts Coco Water, DQ Coco and Pineapple Juice) as a buffer at your next summer party and you'll know what I'm talking about!

I usually don't drink flavored rums, but mix in real fruit/juices instead....but this makes really nice coco flavored drinks. I've had a few other coco rums and this is by far the best. At that price point, it is a good grab for a mix.

I now know that my only bottle of Koloa Toasted Coconut Rum will be extremely hard to replace when it finally runs out because no one wants to pay $35 for 80 proof coconut rum except us. So, I got on a brief quest to find a half way decent replacement before that time comes. Presently, Blue Chair Bay has a strong enough coconut taste to satisfy my needs, so I compared this Don Q Coconut to the Blue Chair Bay Coconut.

This one is not syrupy sweet like Blue Chair Bay, but it also has less alcohol and more subdued coconut flavors that don't even show up in the aroma. Depending upon what you want in a tropical drink, either one would work. For those who hate coconut and just need to add it to a drink just to say that coconut is in there, this will suffice and also at a budget price. There is also no chemical or antiseptic flavor like what is found in many of the other so-called coconut rums.

Update: I could not drink this stuff neat, so I added lots of ice. That is when it's true evil taste appears. I had to pour the remaining half bottle down the toilet, which I rarely do. Basically, there is no hope for this one. Good rums get higher ratings over time and bad ones like this one just sink.

I wasn't expecting to like this much, as I'm not a big fan of the Don Q Limon. However, this is a very nice coconut rum!

Smells and tastes of sweet coconut, with a little something fruity - maybe a touch of lemon macaron.

Weak at only 21%abv.

An above average coconut rum. I was pleasantly surprised!

I bought this as a mixer for any recipes that called for Malibu. This has a nice flavor and aroma, and the price was right. However, like Malibu and other flavored rums in this class, the alcohol % is low.

It ok but not a super good tasting rum. In a pinch may be ok for mixing.

My liquor store was out of sugar island, so I gave this a try. It’s in drinkable in my opinion. It’s tastes like lotion, not suntan lotion, just lotion. Disgusting.

Smooth sweet and strong coconut flavor. My favorite coconut rum!
