Soft pepper hue with dark spice. Arising cola sweet, root beer with hazelnut. Pleasant sweet menthol-ed coffee paired creamy dried fruits chocolate. A wee industrial sugary sweet. Short-medium, subdued with thin texture, layer of sweet minty liquorice.

Min jumfruoplevelse med god rom.!
Dette var min første oplevelse med rom, der er meningen at man skal nyde rent. Jeg fik den serveret hos en kammerat inden en julefrokost for ca. 2,5 år siden og har været hooked på rom lige siden.

If you want to introduce a friend to the world of rum - it's either this or El Dorado.

I used to like this for his smoothness; then I discovered his ~40 g/l sugar percentage... needless to say, it is a good sugary-maple syrup, with a lot of vanilla, oak and a faint afterburn. 6,5 bottles, Diplomatico needs an effort to reduce sugar in these products. I'd love to taste an unadulterated Venezuelan one!
I HAD to try a bottle of this, because of the high praise it receives all over the internet. This rum is in a slightly higher price bracket to where I normally shop, so expectations were sky-high. I just find it sickeningly sweet, on the nose, during sipping and long after finishing a glass. Back to the cheap mixers for me......

Den er lidt skarp i det så den får ikke helt så gode karakterer
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"
via Inu A Kena
Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Classic, sweet, very nutty

Very sweet, yet quite easy to drink, if you don't mind sweet, almost syrupy taste. Strong taste of nuts. Not very complex compared to premium rums.
