In terms of price, flavour and availability, this is usually what I buy when I want to have rum. It's very smooth, goes well in drinks or on it's own and it's a reasonable price
Diplomatico RE was my first sipping rum. Couldn't have chosen a better one to start with. Being new to the rum review game, I won't try to use fancy lingo like flavor notes, legs or complexity. I will just say that it smells and tastes like sweet deliciousness with a subtle burn. Drinking it neat is the way to go. Ice and water takes away from that creamy goodness and mixing hides that great flavor. I have graduated to less sweet rums but this will always stay in heavy rotation at my house. At around $35 USD (01/2016), this is a must have.
Un excellent rhum. Dans cette tranche de prix un des meilleurs.
Great rum, but wanted it to exceed my expectations after hearing people rave about it
Dark caramel color, smell a little sweet and you will taste at end. Tó sugary taste for me.
Lovely taste, different kind of flavours that are strong but.not overwelming.
This is the best rum i have the pleasure to drink. Selection of aged rum in Moss, Norway is not good.
Round body a little 3 second sting and a nice after taste.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
