I love its smooth finish on my tongue. I love that I can still remember what I wanted to say before my healthy second pour :) A buy again
It is a nice rum and I enjoy drinking straight. However, it fills you up quickly due to high sugar content. Lots of molasses and toffee in the foreground and some gentle fruity flavours at the back.
Don't get me wrong - if you are after the sweeter rums, it tastes perfectly well. It's well rounded - good nose, gentle to palate and it's easy to sip, but that's because it HAS an added sugar in it. Very similar to Barcelo Imperial, but with more depth.
Some noobs compare it to El Dorado 12, but Eldo is way ahead in every single aspect.
Best rum in the world? My a*s!
Some toffee notes, some vanilla and caramel. Taste has similar character. Not a lot of bite. Finish is perhaps a little sweeter than I would like but by no means overbearing. This is a great rum.
This was the first really good rum I ever tried. Before that I only tried some products which were not so good. This is super smoot, balanced and nice rum… but the last bottle I tried was a bit harsh and not so good. Probably they have some issues related the quality and I decided to try some other brands. A bit fixed feelings… the fist two bottles 9/10 but the last bottle 6/10
A nice rum, though a little too sweet for
My tooth and tasting of cola when sipped neat. I prefer something more true to rum
A great evergreen for every occasion, but too much added sugar to be at the top.
- smell: great, pleasant, charming
- taste: round and full, but way too sweet
- finale: medium, requires for more and more
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Rich and flavorful. Great smell with hints of spice, which is interesting, especially for a non spiced rum. Not devoid of sweetness, but not overly sweet either. Beautiful color. Great as a sipper or in a Cuba libre.
