Super easy to drink. Smooth and just sweet enough.
A very good run with solid body, and easy finish. A bit sweet with a cola, but worth the time.

This was my first experience with a sipping rum and I found it extremely approachable and delicious! It's on the sweet side, so if that's not your thing then this won't be either. Leaves more for the rest of us!

If you want to introduce a friend to the world of rum - it's either this or El Dorado.
I've only been exploring sipping rums for a few months--bourbon and vodka became boring to me--and while it has its critics, after purchasing half a dozen others in the $40-$50 range the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva is my one of my clear favorites. Some say it's overly sweet due to added sugar but to me it goes down VERY easily and tastily. Reviews are split...some say it's among the best of all rums while a few others say it's not rum but pancake syrup...people either love it or hate it, and I'm among the former. Yes, if you're a connoisseur and a purist you might not care for it...or on the other hand you might praise it, whatever floats your boat. Be aware, it is sweet but to me the sugar is not overwhelming at all. If you're a beginner, I recommend it. It's affordable and if you're just starting to explore rums that deserve to be sipped, this is a good one to start with.
My favourite. Excellent. Smooth. Moderately sweet.

Used to really love this and it got me into sipping my rum. Has that buttery caramel vibe, it's easy to drink but I agree with someone else's review that it feels like a bit of liqueur. I like it and maybe I'd even order it at a nice bar but there's still so much rum out there to buy before I come back to this.

Delicious and smooth. Plays nicely with others but also can enjoyed neat.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crรจme. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."
