Diplomatico Ambassador Selection is a limited edition rum crafted from 100% still pot rums and aged for a minimum of 12 years. Like its counterparts, the rum originates from Venezuela and is aged in ex-bourbon casks. The rum has a high strength and does not contain any sweeteners, caramel or other additives which means it does not require chill filtration.

One of the best.... worth its price... an extraordinary experience.
I took it together with the dictator 25 years Essence and in many ways it was superior .. a permanent pleasant depth

Not nearly as sweet as the Reserva Exclusiva, but still seems like there is some added suger. The sherry influence is heavier than any other rum I have tasted. It is a good quality and I would recommend it if you don't mind spending the money and are a sherry fan. For me, I'll invest my money elsewhere moving forward.

Well balanced and smooth to the nose and mouth. And the color is beautiful for the eye. This is a step up from the Single Vintage series.
This bottle is just a beauty! The taste is sweet like almost all Diplomatico rums. I would rate it a 7,5 because there is one flavor in it that breaks my moment of enjoying! It's something personal and I can't find out what it is. I think it's the oaky kinda coffee flavour which I dislike.

It’s good. And stays long on the tongue. Strong, aged, oaky. But for that price not worth it, or doesn’t live up to the hype. Disappointed.

Very classy and complex rum. This is not a rum with major stomp on it. It is smooth and silky, nice flavors from start to finish is truly enjoyable.

N- Sour plum, floral, coffee and cedar. Rich chocolate brownie with pastry cream comes with whiff of strength. Sweet herbs and buddha fruit juice. Coffee caramel, kopiko candy. All in all a gentle rum with relatively shallow depth considering this is a premium line. (84/18)
P- Raisin, raisin and more raisins. Then liquorice oak note for drying effect with spices. Get sugary at the tail. (84/18)
F- Medium, nutty, mellow, young banana and dried fruits. Tart. (83/18)
B/B- 75/15. It says Cask Strength, at 47%.... exactly the same strength as previous batch. however I am not sure on the CS definition for Rum by certain rum producers, it may be so.

I found this to be slightly better than the Single Vintage 2004, which is a top rum. The flavor is thick and well-balanced--brown sugar, wood, vanilla, dried fruits. Sweet, but overly so.
