Diplomatico Ambassador Selection

Barva velmi tmavá, vune sladká je v ni cítit drevo, ovoce, cokolada. Chuť je příjemná, lehce štiplava. Je cítit po rozinkach, dřevu. Na diplo fajn rum asi nejlepší od nich.

47° geeft scherpte maar is verfijnd. Door de prijs toch niet mijn favoriet.

Too expensive to buy (really any rum at this price is overpriced) but lovely to be gifted. Very swanky packaging, faux leather box, heavy metal cork and all that. The contents are very good too. Sugar added? Yes, most likely. There is a hint a of SLS (sticky lip syndrome) which is a shame. It's not a sweet as the Reserva Exclusiva though and not as cloying. Ripe fruit aroma, plums and figs, and a pleasant smokiness. Unfortunately a hint of 'sweet shop' too. Very smooth to drink at 47%. The rum truly shines in it's heavy oaky finish. Great use of those Pedro Ximenez casks. Oak can easily be too bitter, this has a powerful but pleasant presence.

Enjoyable sipping rum. A bit sweet and heavy in mouth (presence of additives??) but with a pleasant aftertaste. Rich aroma with notes of oak and vanilla.
Overpriced as all Diplomatico rums. Not my favourite but still enjoyable.

God rom som smager godt. Den er dog for dyr i forhold til kvalitet i forhold til min mening.

I've been partial to the Exclusiva Reserve for many years, seeking out this and the single vintage for comparison and to see if it could get any better. For the price paid to the quality, I'm still an advocate for DER, feeling the massive price jump doesn't equate to a massive quality jump. It is definitely smooth, silky on the tongue with tamed caramel and sugar cane notes. There's an empty on my dead soldier shelf and a full, untouched in my prize cabinet. Will share with friends when the moment calls, but stick with DER for the best value for premium rum.

It’s good. And stays long on the tongue. Strong, aged, oaky. But for that price not worth it, or doesn’t live up to the hype. Disappointed.

I'm giving it an 8 as I didn't have to pay for tasting this but given a bottle of this is triple the price of it's Single Vintage brother or something like Zacapa XO I'd want it to be blowing me away and it doesn't. Definitely good stuff but at that price point I'd be wanting to crave it for the rest of my life and thinking about it every time I drink another rum and I don't

Presented in a lovely wooden case, and with a weighty stopper and thick glass, this bottle feels elegant.
The flavours are synonymous with what you would expect from Diplomatico, so sweet, vanilla, butterscotch. But there is a dryness that makes the finish disappointingly short.

Much more complex than reserva exclusiva, but a little bit expensive
