This is the light, multicolumn-produced Trinidad rum that people use for cocktails. It can be sipped as is, but it is simple and light.

Had a glass of Angostura Old Oak Gold at La Bodequita del Medio in Ciudad de Mexico. Boring bottle and label design made by a team who doesn't care. Very offputting industrial strength cleaner product straight to your nose and palate with the add-on wood flavors. Its awful even when mixed and all the nasty flavors are coming straight through your soda.

Not a very complex rum with a burn going down. Flavors are not very pronounced. The limited amount of time spent in the barrel isn't able to bring out the smoothness, complexity or nice array of pleasing notes to work together that affords many other rums aged longer to be a better, well rounded rum. It's ok, not an easy rum to find with a straw color it works well as a introductory mixer.

This rum gets the job done. Similar to Bacardi silver, with a slightly stronger profile.
