This is my favorite rum in a Mai Tai mixed together with Cruzan Aged Gold. The Coruba is a nicely balanced dark with not too much molasses flavor but just enough. Works wonders in any "tiki" drink and is great with cola.
Very nice and smooth, full of molasses flavor.

One of the classic tiki drink rums, one you just need to have, it mixes well with most things and adds a robust dark flavor.

Dark mixing rum. Good with ginger beer. You really can taste the molasses. This is for mixing or cooking only.

Perfectly happy to drink this rum when I ask for a dark rum and coke/cocktail. Not hugely flavoursome, but nice enough for a decent night out on the town.

Didn't know it was an NZ brand even after all these years. I should really add another point just for that. Lol. Coruba will always have a place in my heart & on my shelf since it's the rum I grew up on. I'd only ever tried a couple of other rums till about a year ago & always used Coruba as my scale of what rum should taste like. For it's price range I reckon it's a fairly decent & honest rum. It's not trying to hide anything or try to be something it's not. It says to me, I'm here, this is who I am, take it or leave it. It's no sipper, but I don't think it was intended to be.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
