From the moment I first nosed the Multi-Island rum by Plantation (mine is Jamaica, St. Lucia and Guyana) Wonderfully complex nose, lots of nutmeg and some wood. Smoke, molasses, funk, all very dark, very deep, extremely satisfying. My favourite nose on a rum so far.

Taste is intense, very little burn, but powerful. Vanilla, nutmeg, molasses, smoke, various facettes of funk. Quite dirty, actually. Slight sourness (perfectly blended in). Sweeter than expected and probably has some sugar added. But it matters not, it works very well this way. No problems at all. And it has a faint tingle of salt, which gives it a salt-caramel-like quality. Noticeably salty really, no idea where that comes from.
The intensity is insane for a 44% rum. Tastes like at least 50%, but without the burn.

Great, great, great. I would give 10/10, if it was not that I found this a bit on the expensive side for what it is (a mass-produced, mass-market rum using rather standard ingredients).

Something vaguely similar can be achieved by mixing Pusser's and Appleton 12. But that is just to give you an idea. This is better.

Light amber with gold reflections in the glass.
In the nose a really strong rum smell like Guyana and Jamaica rum smells. Freshly baked rolls with bitter orange jam, moss powdered with cocoa and a barrel full of caramel sweets.
On the palate quite discreet and balanced. Chocolate with caramel filling smoked with oak wood, a tender breeze from the sea blows through the herb garden, green and red fruits lie in a basket filled with spices.
In the finish wonderfully long, the candy cotton flirts long with the cocoa.
A rum, which needs time and leisure and therefore rather appeals to connoisseurs of the half-sweet rum with tendency to whisky.

Kan ikke definere den. Men det er jo også et blandingsprodukt...

Aroma has a big lemon hit, nicely underscored by burnt sugar and campfire smoke. The flavor has that typical plantation core with more of the aforementioned lemon, and some dark caramel. Finish slowly fades away into... black olive brine. No idea where that came from...
There can be no doubt of the quality behind this rum, smooth as all the way through with a nice overall richness, but it just feels a little too all over the place to be bumped into that 9 category for me. But hey, 8 is far from bad, and I can definitely see myself coming back to this rum! Though, like I said in the title, my review clearly sticks out like a sore thumb here, so you may not want to set too much store by me on this one...

Aroma is funky with ester and grass.
Taste is slightly sweet, but will start burn after few seconds (you would say, that it has more than 44%) On palate you can recognize cognac and whisky tones with some small hit of spice/herbs and honey/propolis touch. Aftertaste is long and pleasant, but the price is too high, so only 8.5 points

Had to try it but not for me. Too much of a bourbon/scotch feel, I prefer smooth and caramels. Some will like it, just not my style

Sud číslo 3/11, lahev číslo 181/300.
Jde o velmi zajímavé plnění a zrání, posuďte sami.
Sv.
Alkohol: 44 %
Původ: Sv. Lucie, Guyana, Jamajka/Francie
Aroma: V prvním dojmu hned poznávám typickou vůni z ročníkové Sv. Lucie 2003, která mi hodně voněla (i chutnala). Takže opět ten nasládle ředidlový dojem. Tady je tedy zakomponován v medu, starém exotickém dřevu, propolisu, čokoládě a hromadě koření, kde převládá hřebíček a skořice. (92 b)
Celkově i koňakový nádech, kakao. (96 b)
Body: 94/100
