I tasted this one along side with Trawler's rum and wasn't liked. Trawler's rum was so-so but Watson's was awfull. Harsh, very bitter and have nothing good ever((
Dark and syrupy! Nice flavour but still has the burn and smell of spirits which gives away the cheap price tag
There are medical, tropical fruits and spices, glue in aroma. The taste is light, sweet, sharp burning, dried fruits = compote. Pleasant and unpleasant are balanced. Dry. Bitterness prevails.
A little heavy, presses on the head. Snacks is necessary.
Watson's Trawler is more balanced and pleasant when drinking long.
I picked this up initially by accident, meaning to purchase Watson's Trawler Rum, but I'm very glad that I did. The rum has a lovely sweetness that is not sickly, with a taste of vanilla. Since purchasing it, it has now become my regular rum, I particularly recommend that it is taken with Pepsi as the two seem to work perfectly together. It's OK as a sipping rum, but at £18 per bottle IMHO it's not aimed at that end of the market. A fantastic mixing rum that is not seen much, but if you stumble across it then I would highly recommend that you pick up a bottle.
Very dark - strong liquorice aftertaste. Easy to sip neat
cheep coarse ron with excessive of stagger, enough sweet, pretty good
Bought as an alternative to my usual ovd, I'd not heard of this one before. £18 for a 70cl from Amazon puts it's slightly more expensive than ovd.
A blend of Guyana demerara rums Bottled and distributed by Ian Macleod in Scotland.
On the nose it's very simlar to OVD, deep treacle and spice notes most prominent. Tasting, again very similar to OVD, molasses, treacle and raisin and I'd say a spicier and less sweet taste than OVD. Very smooth and tasty mixed with cola.
Overall pretty impressed with this and would buy it again. Watsons also do another rum, Trawler which is a mix of Guyana and Barbados rums. I look forward to trying it.
A little on the bitter side.
"The profile is mostly cocoa but it has a fruity taste as well."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It has some dark Demerara rum sweet and peppery taste that I've appreciated in Watson's Trawler, only this rum has it better. I personally like it, so I'd gladly drink these kinds more and value it higher then someone might do.
