Smoother than the vx, worth the extra money if you can afford it.

Gotta say - I like this rum. Really smooth. Lots of sweetness, I smell molasses primarily. Sugary, maybe too much for some.

Difficult to say what it was about this, but I generally did not like it. There seemed to be bight and an aftertaste that I found unpleasant.

The color of this rum was a glowing amber.
Possibility my favorite 12 year rum, and Appleton Estate has produced the best Jamaican rums I've tasted. The Appleton Estate 12 year is exceptionally smooth with hints of cinnamon and banana, with undertones of dark chocolate and oak , or what I believe the barrel is oak because other rums by Appleton are also oak, but I haven't been able to find what barrel type they used. The finish is incredibly smooth leaving a light taste of cinnamon in the mouth. Priced around $30 a great rum for the price, and served best over ice. However, this age is still ripe causing the drinker to miss out on some of the flavor undertones. I wish Appleton Estate would release the rare blend in 15 or 18 year vintage just to taste how this bottle would if matured.

44%. Nose of mild coffee but I don't taste it. You can feel the extra alcohol but not in a bad way. Nice overall sipper.

The rum taste nice and spicy. It has dominant combination of brown sugar, charred caramel, and a spicy oak. It is well balanced and complex with some points of fruits and almonds.

I bought this rum somewhere at a airport in Baku at duty free shop. What a great choice, very good balanced in taste and cost. Smells nice and it is very gentle just enough burning oaky chocalty spicyness. The first night the bottle was half empty :D It is like kissing a girl you always liked, you cant get enough of it....Too bad they dont sell it in the netherlands :(

It's great stuff. No added sugar, smooth as can be. Wow

Not bad, smooth, but not as much depth as my favourite El dorados

Best rum I've had yet. Better than their signature blend. Way better than Captain Morgan's. Has nice amount of alcohol content. Not too strong of a bite with good amount of flavors.
