Lots of rum raisin, some alcohol burn, okay rum but no real desire to have some more.
Swedish independent bottler Svenska Eldvatten (Swedish firewater) have created their own rum and named it WeiRon. It contains aged rum from Barbados and Jamaica. It has been bottled at 50% ABV and no sugar has been added.
Nose; Smooth but powerful. Arrak, vanilla, brown sugar, chocolate and nuts. A rich nose
Palate; This one is powerful! A spicy palate including pepper, oak, honey, rasin, arrak, licorice, tobacco and citrus. Two drops of water is reccomended.
Finish; Quite long and warming, including nice tones of oak, licorice, tobacco and brown sugar.
Overall; An interesting and powerful rum from Svenska Eldvatten. I do prefer my rum a bit sweeter but drinking it and eating some chocolate makes a great combo.
I love the rumswedes.. When they make whiskey.. This one is surely a fine rum.. But i don´t like the taste of it..
I loved the initial mouthfeel of this, which is almost buttery in texture and richness. Unfortunately, this rapidly turns into a fairly generic spirit burn. Not to my taste and a but disappointed after such an interesting start. Still... Swedish rum, eh?
Oily which comes with slight funk. Perfume like with floral notes of warm honey and jackfruit. Sweet spices and black tea tannin.
Creamy yet with touch of apple cider. Fine fruitiness as nose with mineral. Doesn't burn although it's bottle at 50% abv.
Woody plum finishing with sweet spices (cardamon) with tannin which tingle the gum.
N- Open up superbly with elegant aroma of earth and fine oak nuance, behaved creamy notes of banana, vanilla and candy undertone. well integrated quality fragrant with amicably firm and rounded depth. No heavy doses of gluey caramel here, gladly. (22/25)
P- Generous dried fruit and ripe banana at the spine, carried with it a layer of tart lime peel that gives a dry-spicy sensation on the palate with hint of chocolate on the return. (22/25)
F- Medium, subtly spicy with good zest, firm with just the right touch of refine rum-ish caramel sweetness. (20/25)
Balance - Balanced and appearing aroma with encompassing mouthfeel of fine flavors. (23/25)
Weighted Rate:- 87pt

At first the Jamaican rum is very dominant, however about halfway through the glass the Barbados rum starts shining through. At this point the rum is very nicely balanced. Reconmended if you like strong(ish), unaltered rums.
Another sample rum I bought. Not so smooth, not so flavoursome, just ok overall. Wouldn't buy again though.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

First of all, i like the bottle. This baby comes in a typical Velier-kinda-bottle. Beautiful shape, love it. Also love the very simple label, but lacks some informations about its origin, more than just presenting it's "super premium aged caribbean rum". This rum is bottled without added sugar or colouring. A nice golden colour in the glass, releasing some citrus scents along its spicy profile. And this is exactly what you get in the mouth! At 50% this rum is very well balanced, especially given some time in the glass, some hints of sweet tobacco-leaves appears, and makes it a very enjoyable rum.
