smooth. great w/ Coke. no alcohol finish. a tad sweet.
It's different. Like hay or as some had said, grass. It's warm and there is definite heat in the throat. However, the aftertaste of honey and dried fruit makes this rhum sing.
Caramel and dried fruit nose with coconut and banana finish.
This is a great rum to break into the wild world of Rhum Agricol, and you should!! The grassy, funky flavors are really not like anything else, but this aged Agricol has been polished and smoothed making it very accessible while still bringing the funkiness to the table. Great in spirit forward cocktails, ala rum old fashioned, spirit driven Tiki offerings, or straight up. Bring the Funk!
I finished this off at Christmas time, and have forgotten most of the critical particulars. It was the first Agricole I have had; so I am not expert on the comparison. I enjoyed it mostly neat. I have read other reviews who opine that it is like whiskey. As a single malt sipper, I find that might have been the attraction. The sugar syrup versus molasses derivation is still a mystery to me. I will buy it again after a few more trips around the rum "block." I really was attracted by the shelf presence of the bottle and the look of the label.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Not bad rum.
But something chemical in the taste.
