Plantation Pineapple Stiggin's Fancy

The pineapple is upfront, but not in your face and not overly sweet. There’s some other tropical flavors and some vanilla.

So nice on the tongue. There's just enough pineapple that its present both when it first enters your mouth and its still perfect as you start to enjoy the other components. After it breathes a bit and the full aroma and taste isn't masked by the initial alcohol harshness, it's even better.
Also, it happens to make the best Dark & Stormy I've ever had.

I love this stuff mixed with POG and a bit of sparking water for fizz. By itself it's decent for sipping but I get a higher alcohol burn than with many other aged rums so I mostly use for mixing.

I really love pineapple and the flavours in this dark rum are just what I'm after when I want a fruity drink or a tropical cocktail

6,5:On the nose, the power and freshness of the pineapple are simply impressive. It's like having a freshly opened pineapple right in front of you. Vanilla and pear aromas follow. Rum is not forgotten, and also makes its presence felt.
6,3:On the palate, contrary to what you'd expect from a rum, it's not sweet. Fresh pineapple dominates the palate, followed by vanilla.
6,2:The finish is rather long, on a pleasant blend of pineapple and vanilla, which play off each other for quite a while.

I saw the reviews and the 7 rating, that suggests to me it is a weak sipper, but hoped you were all wrong. I wanted this to be my summer go to sipper and its not. Can it be sipped neat - yes but with a bit of bite in the nose, on the tongue and the throat. its not clearing my sinuses but that alcohol is not hiding itself. Only mixing was with Sprite which improved the flavor overall. Cheers.

Went through a bottle quicker than a lot of other workhorse rums in my bar.

This is a perfect middle of the range rum. Good enough for sipping, and not too expensive to use in your cocktails. Perfect for something to have in your cabinet to bring out.
