Barely drinkable, hard to swallow
I had this side by side with Bacardi Pineapple Fusion (pineapple fused with coconut), and I definitely preferred the Bacardi because of the added coconut flavor.
This had too much pineapple for my liking. If that's what you're looking for, this may be your drink, but I like a little more rum, and this simply had too much pineapple.
That's basically all I tasted was pineapple and sugar. Not for me.
I like pineapple, and I like rum, and I've liked rum and pineapple juice. This is bad, though. It's bitter, candy pineapple flavor in cheap white rum. Avoid.
This smells nice, and that's where the pleasantness ends. This tastes bad, like really bad. No amount of adding either pinapple or orange juice can make this taste good.
Captain Morgan Pineapple could be used as a pineapple flavored drainage cleaner. It is not suitable for neat sipping. There's way too much sugar, artificial flavors and the alcohol smell and burn is like pineapple flavored rubbing alcohol. Just awful, stay away from this one.
A mixers best friend. Cheaper and very strong on its pineapple flavor. I put it in orange juices with lime soda. Amd drop just a little coconut flavored juice in as well. Makes for a finw drink. But you have to add so much to make in enjoyable. Thus my lower rating of 4.
Most people would probably use this liquor for mixed drinks, but I think it goes down well as a shot, too. It has a strong, natural pineapple flavor and aroma. This rum was really popular with some of my good friends for a while because it goes down pretty easy.
If you want to try really good rum that has been steeped with real, actual pineapples, try Plantation Stiggins' Fancy. World of difference. Real xmas tree vs. artificial xmas tree.
