Why would you ever create such thing? I mean, really. This tastes horrible.

To me, rum doesn't taste very good when it has a sour flavor.

This is just sour grapefruit and sugar. I don't care for it at all.

As an interesting side note, this rum has only 4 reviews after I write this, three of which are rated a "1". Those three "1"s all come from the top 3 reviewers on the rumratings.com website (top 3 reviewers in terms of most reviews as of this review date).

I will keep this short and sweet...the overwhelming sweetness in this rum is horrific. The grapefruit flavor is simple crappy. No doubt about it. Use real grapefruit juice with a good white rum for better effect. Pour this swill down the drain. A waste of my money.

When I tasted this I wasn't expecting anything good, but it's even worse than that. If you have recipes which call for grapefruit, take a few seconds to squeeze a real grapefruit into good drinking rum. There's plenty of it out there. Avoid this Captain Morgan stuff like the plague, because if you drink it you will actually get the plague.

Sugar: Estimated at 40 to 50 gpl. This is a basic white rum with grapefruit flavoring and it was better than I anticipated. It has a pleasing citrus aroma and the fruit flavour is not tainted with a chemical aftertaste. If you like the taste of grapefruit and have drink recipes that call for grapefruit, then this rum will work quite well. On it's own with some ice and soda it is drinkable. Overall it's a specialty niche mixing rum. It's not really good enough for sipping.

Not Good! Would not mix with much, sour and not a good flavor. A shame because I love grapefruit flavor and generally enjoy Captain Morgan flavored rums, but this isn't it.

Captain Morgan Grapefruit could be used as a grapefruit flavored drainage cleaner. It is not suitable for neat sipping. There's way too much sugar, artificial flavors and the alcohol smell and burn is like grapefruit flavored rubbing alcohol.

I saw it at a party and had to try it. Knowing what the result would be, I was correct. Don't bother. Whoever at CM suggested this one should find a new line of work!
