I like sweet rum, I drink malibu on the rocks and I can tell you this one from Belmont is really sugar pure... It is too sweet to drink it straight, but if you need a good sweet rum for mixing or a dessert, this one is perfect.

Nose; wonderfully soft and very appealing sweet scent of coconut begins. This full-bodied scent makes me sniff unnecessarily long time in the glass and just enjoy. A subtle hint of oak, brown sugar, chocolate, vanilla and a well-tuned alcohol nudge. A wonderful nose!
Palate; Sweet, soft and slightly oily flavors of molasses, vanilla, chocolate, coconut and arrack.
Also included some spicy oak with a tone of pepper on the tongue.
Finish; A bit short but sweet finish. It is soft, discreet and tasty, with vanilla, coconut and milk chocolate as the leading element. Some spicy oak at the end.
Overall; Candy for grown ups!

Very sweet with strong coconut taste. Almost Liquor. Good for cocktails but also straight a pleasure. Good substitute for a dessert.

Had my first taste of this deliciously dark rum on St. Kitts and fell in love with it. The fragrance of the coconut and its subtle taste was so smooth. Had it in the traditional rum and coke, served by a friend, and bought some to take with me back home. Not sure if I can get it in Nashville or not (paid a little on the import but was worth it). I think it was better than the Bacardi.

Mein erster Rum seit meiner Jugend.

This is very nice flavored rum where, obviously, coconut is main flavor here. Aroma is hitting you right away with coconut, but there are some tum tones in it and alcohol. Taste, surprisingly is starting pretty much rummish with nice alcohol kick, then changing to very, very, very sweet coconut and this aftertaste is going on with this coconut flavor for very long time. Indeed this is not rum as we know, its more liquor (very similar to Legandario). Its very nice speciality.

Eleven years ago my friends and I found this sweet coconut rum in St Kitts. It does have some syrup in it and it sinks to the bottom after you mix it with your favorite soda. To me this is the highest quality coconut rum you can find in the Caribbean Islands. You must have a sweet tooth to find it exceptional. If you go to St Kitts or have a friend cruising to the island, it will cost about $12.00 US.

Personally, as I get older I find aged rums are my favorite, but if you like coconut rum you can find Belmont Estate Coconut Rum at most convenient stores.

The first thing you notice when you open the bottle is the coconut scent. Nothing artificial, nothing too strong, but definitely present.
You take a tasting sip and learn that the taste is in harmony with the smell. The coconut taste fortunately doesn't overpower the rum and it has a little burn on the end.
Overall not a bad rum even if you're not so much into coconut. An absolute must-have if you like coconut.
Very nice volume/price ratio as it comes in a 1L bottle.
