Strong tasting rum, does not dissapoint. For drinkers who like the whisky-side more than the sweet rum taste.

Lidt svær at blive klog på. Men ligger bestem i den drikkelig ende af CDI-rom

Sweet nose. Palate dominated by burnt banana combined with some distant notes that let one think about shoe polish. Initial taste is accompanied with some burn, followed by sweet notes. Only short finish. Would have given a 6.5 mark. Rated it with 7 as this rum has no added sugar and no artificial colouring.

57% Another young rum from CDI , light straw in colour with that typical Jamaican glue / funk smell. High strength vapours in the glass , but this is a sippable navy rum. Pineapple , mango fruit prevalent with a bit of spice and wood. Dry rum with a very long , warm finish which lasts forever..

I'm used to great rums from La Compagnie des Indes but this 5 years Jamaica was kind of a disapointment. It's not a bad rum, but for the price i was expecting more depth.

Bright golden amber in colour. Oak, straw and hints of fruit on the nose. Fried banana, sugarcane and fresh oak on the palate. A bit short finish with oak and a bit alcohol burn, as you might expect from a five year old blend. Nevertheless, it is well blended, pleasant and classically Jamaican. Unavailable in my home country, but it seems very decently priced and it could easily be my favourite mixer in the category slightly aged Jamaican rum. It is less punchy than, say, Smith and Cross but I find it is the perfect level of character you need in tiki cocktails and the like, it does not overpower everything else yet loud and clearly says Hello from Jamaica. Decent enough to sip, by all means, but not very interesting.
