7: As you bring the glass to your nose, prepare for an aromatic journey. Powerful scents of creamy soda, fried banana, dried mango, and fruit bread greet your senses. White pepper adds a subtle but invigorating kick. With each nosing, the complexity deepens, unveiling notes of raw sugar, hints of white chocolate, and a delightful banana cake essence.

8: The palate experience is a revelation. Despite its robust alcohol content, this rum maintains a remarkable smoothness. It exhibits concentrated flavours, showcasing a gentle bittersweetness at midpalate. Revel in the rich taste of banana peel, fruit loaf, and a sprinkling of white pepper. A fresh, grassy, and pineapple zest infuses the midpalate, followed by a lingering embrace of warming sweet spices. Smokiness is present.
8: Finish is quite long, tropical, ripe fruit, pleasant sweetness.

Compagnie des Indes Navy Strength Jamaica Rum is a testament to the art of rum-making. Its complexity is balanced and harmonious, never overwhelming the senses with excessive sweetness.

This is such a good rum. I've just grabbed six Jamaican rums from my shelves to rate. God knows why I started with a 57% rum. There is a little burn at the back end, and a little toffee on the front... and the middle is delicious. There's a bit of a single malt vibe with the richness. I guess thats a a pot still sign. I remember when I bought it at the Re Store. I ummed and ahhed, but the abv tipped me over to yasss!!!

From the nose to the palet this is a really nice, if unspectacular rum. Good for sipping and has been great in a few cocktails I tried it in. Recommend it strongly.

A blend of two WP rums. Great nose, solid taste but nothing truly specific.
Not very sweet rum - actually quite bittery. The finish is not that pleasant.
Typical nose with alcohol, fruits, esters and little bit of... compost.
Got it for laughable €32 free shipped thanks to damaged paper box (which is crap quality anyway).
A good rum but kinda boring to review. Really similar to red Papalin, TCRL Jamaica and probably many others. Good for drinking - nothing much to explore. Only rate it 7/10 for nose + high ABV.
/EDIT seems tastier onwards, I believe the palate is simply too tasty for just 7 so raised my review recently (7,5/10). Also due to the purchase was a bargain.

Un très bon profil de Jamaïquain. Les degrés ce font un peux sentir sur la descente.

Lovely funky and really potent.

Sure, because of its age the alcohol levels shine through but you still have the over ripe fruits, arrak and fudgy notes running through it.

Dejlig kraftig rum fra Jamaica. Har en del "funk" uden at være "Krads"
På cocktails giver den en dejlig næse som "float"

So far I've had only Purser's rum as Navy style and I liked it. Now got a chance to explore more.

KD is dark, oily, fruity nutty, rich. Little alcohol burn.
CdI is light, watery, funky, flat. Medium alcohol burn.
KD is the blend of Jamaica and Guyana. Feels like in 50\50 proportion. This makes it layered, pleasant. Definitely some chocolate notes in aftertaste.
CdI is pure Jamaica and it's lightly fermented. Funk is Ok, but feels like nothing else is in there.
KD 8; CdI 7.
... Still looking for the best Navy style rum ...
