Very light yellow in color. Sweet notes of citrus, smoky wood, vanilla on the nose. I quite like the spices and same notes are in palate. I like sweet rums and this is such, but not too sweet for me. Taste lingers quite long time. I would not mix this with anything, nice enough to drink strait up.
Got a sample of this rum from RR Tasting Club some time ago.
Compagnie des Indes Caraibes is a blend of rums from Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad.
The color is quite pale and I haven’t found anything about aging, but I suppose it’s a quite young rum.
The aroma is well balanced and a little inviting with hints of fruit, rubber, cinnamon and some wood.
In mouth and on the palate it’s sweet with weak hints of fruit and spices.
The finish is short and tastes like on the palate.
I don’t recognize rum from Guyana or Barbados in the blend, so I suppose it’s mostly rum from Trinidad in the blend.
Overall it’s too bland for my taste.
Sweet with bright citrus flavors, easy to drink but not a rum you’ve would enjoy in large quantities.
Quite pale in the color so the expectations wasn´t too high. The nose is good. The taste i great with a wide pallet. The finish has a great kick to it.. I was afraid at firtst an thought that here comes the ethanol.. But no.. A new thick pallet of tastes.
Nu e deloc pe gustul meu. Probabil cineva care apreciază romurile spirtoase și tinere poate aprecia mai bine.
Duft: Sød-frugt, sukker, syrlig. Score 3
Smag: Alkohol, peber, nellike, krydderiet, fad, sukker. Score 2
Not bad, little bit too sweet and the alcohol overpowers everything else. A little bit grassy I guess. Not great overall though.
Ziemlich dünn, gibt definitiv Besseres für das Geld.
Its light and sweet – banana, apricot and some chocolate raisins.
"It has an almost saccharin note to it. Milk chocolate, raisins and demerara sugar are the main notes. The finish is virtually non-existent."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Well, it was too good to be true. The owner of Compagnie des Indies has admitted that he adds sugar to some of his rums. This Caraibes, for example, has 15 grams per liter. Certainly too much to ignore. If I want a few spoons of sugar in my rum I'd like the option to add it - or not add it - myself. No mention of the sugar on the label. It's not a bad blend of rums, just too sweet.
