Very grassy and vegetal. Smells quite a bit like sparkling apple cider, though certainly harder and not add sweet. Packs more of a pinch than its 84 proof might lead you to expect.
Fairly complex, and I wager this would make a killer caipirinha. Recommended!

This is some top shelf Cachaca. Sweet, peppery, smooth as silk. I prefer it straight up. Not sure what kind of caipirinhas it will make, given its delicate nature...but I'm willing to find out. An excellent beverage, probably one of the best Cachacas you will find in the US.

This another great Cachaça from Avua.

It has a very nice cachaça flavor. It's not quite as tasty as their Amburana, nor as smooth as their Oak, both of which I like a little better, but it's still one of the great cachaças.

The only reason my score isn't higher is because I'm just not a huge cachaça fan. But if you like cachaças, you definitely should try the Avua!!!

A more delicate cane juice rum than the unaged agricoles. It has a lot of hints of hogo-ish flavors as well as some light floral and a hint of a butter-esque flavor.

I thought I disliked cachaca until I ad this. It tastes like a blend of agricole and Jamaican rums, yet stil smooth with no unpleasant alcohol off flavors. Can’t wait to find some of the wood ones

This is a pot-stilled cachaca, full of flavor that comes with this distillation method. Lightly sweet with a ton of grassy notes you get with a good cachaca. I have yet to find better.

Tasted at Laka Lono May 28, 2023
Aroma: you could make sour dough bread out of this rum, just by the aroma
Nice and clear, as expected
SOOO cachaca. The flavor is on the sweet side of the style, and it lasts and lasts in the best way.
It starts strong, yes, but from there the flavor continues to bloom 🌺

Tasted at Laka Lono on 4/4/21. This is jet fuel. Pungent. Harsh palate. Fusels. Intense bitter finish. Not one to drink neat.

Light, refreshing, floral, warming. Nice iteration of rum.

Delicious, delicate, vegetal and sweet as you want a Cachaça to be... But I'm not sure what to recommend it for. If you're drinking it straight, I think you want the added complexity of the lightly aged Amburana expression. In a caipirinha, it is so sweet and delicate, it almost disappears. That's probably great for some folks, but I prefer a bit more character. But I guess if you can only get one bottle and don't want to break the bank, you could do far worse.

Wonderful for caipirinhas. I'm a little bummed I haven't been able to find it around me. Purchased this when visiting across the country.
