It can be a mission to find the right adjective to describe this rum, but perhaps these two words do the justice; fully and rich. Fully because the minute I opened this bottle its aroma flooded the room. This triggered my rum drinker instinct prepping me for the challenge. I can say that what you sense is what you experience in its taste. This rum is deliciously rich in flavour.
First, I would like to underline this is a quality rum. You cannot mispick this, it is absolutely good.
But... From this on this depends on yoir taste. I do not like this taste, this is why the score 7. The taste is strong, catches your throat, tongue and does not let it for a minute at least. Which is not a problem if you like this.
What I taste is medium-low sweetness, strong oak and overwhelming flawours in you nose with some smokey taste.
If you like dring grabbing you by your neck try it - otherwise let it go :)
I drink neat most of the time, on occasion with a large rock so my view of rums is all about the rum. As I explore the many rums available I have found that even by paying way up for a special bottles I always find myself comparing those rums to the K&S 23 and asking why did I spend that money. And although the price is not entry level it is not over the top, in north Georgia it is going for about $50 US. A bargain.
Delicioso ron agrícola, de mis favoritos. Multitud de matices, dulce pero sin exceso.
A neat aroma, a bit of bite and taste of vanilla. A good sipping rum
Coming from the 18 year, the 23 is noticeably tougher. You can tell it's age. But I truly can't say I like it much. more than the 18. Each one has it's own quirks. Considering the price, I would probably rather buy the 18, but neither will disappoint.
Actually I'm not sure of this is a 7 or 8 out of 10. Was good but still not convinced to get it a second time
On an cost per ounce basis, this is the best Agricole out there, and arguably the best aged rum at its price point. This has become my go-to when I want to introduce noobs to aged rum.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Tasted at Laka Lono on 1/19/20. Brownish amber in appearance with a strong and complex aroma of molasses and hazelnuts. Medium body but a high heat velvety richness of caramel and toasted grains. Really nice.
